Menus and mobile!


Heya Splashy Friends!

This update comes after a nice long single-day session of development while riding the train to Boston for GodotCon!

The main changes in this version are as follows:

  • Added baseline UI from our 2D Game Template and updated it to work with Splish-specific things
    • Specially, updated the win screen to report level statistics, including a success rating!
      • Cargo is 50% of the rating
      • Time is 50% of the rating, reflected as "Avg. speed", which is achievable by having 75% of the crew rowing the whole time
        • Since the level starts with crew not rowing, this end up needed over 75% of the crew rowing for a portion, but you're rewarded for going above and beyond!
        • I could test it exactly with a special level setup, but I'm confident in my calculations are good enoug
      • Other stats are just for fun at this point
  • Updated automation scripts to work from Linux (now have a linux and windows version), since my laptop is currently Linux-based
  • Added mobile controls!
    • Tutorial and controls screen aren't updated yet, but that will come along in the next upload. Mainly added them so we have something to work off of to make the needed assets and such

I'll also be making GitHub releases a thing starting with this "build". Probably v0.X, based on the number of devlogs so far or something since I can't remember all the major versions so far.
